Personally I also find it fun to play high luck builds as it makes it incredibly easy to get money once you reach vegas proper but that's more of a personal preference than anything else. As for speech it's just a regular skill like everything else, if you have a high intelligence you'll get more than enough skill points and you can assign them into any skill you want regardless of your special stats. However, if you're going for a build where you almost never shoot anyone personally but your friends do instead then you'll want to bump charisma up as it buffs companions quite a bit (this isnt generally required as on non-hardcore companions are OP and will do a lot of damage to your foes).

I'm not sure I can think of a check in the game that requires Charisma other than (imo rather weak) perks. I mean generally I consider Charisma 1 Intelligence 9 builds to be incredibly powerful. Does anyone have any advice on what I should put into each stat/what perks I should take? I want my character to have as many dialogue options as possible without being unviable in everything else. However, I keep seeing conflicting opinions on the internet over the best way to achieve that: does Charisma matter, or just Speech? (When do I get access to Speech? Do I need Charisma before I get it?) What should I put my stats into to get the most dialogue options possible?Īlso, since I'm bad at games, I don't want to die from everything because I'm so Speech-based I can't do anything else (tho a little dying for access to more dialogue is acceptable.) How do I balance getting as many dialogue/non-violent options as possible while still not being horribly squishy? Or will that not matter that much on easy mode? Also, what weapons are best for someone Bad At Gaming?

However, for this game, I keep seeing conflicting stuff about Charisma as a stat.īecause I care about story/roleplay more than mechanics, I like making builds where I can have as many dialogue options as possible, and I like being able to talk my way out of combat. I'm not great at making character builds (tho I play on easy mode-I'm kind of bad at video games-and that makes it matter less) so I usually find something online and follow that. So I just got FNV today, I've never played a Fallout game before, and honestly haven't played a ton of video games in general.
